Julianne Hough makes ‘beautiful’ revelation about her sexual orientation
Julianne Hough Addresses Sexuality After Saying She's "Not Straight"
Julianne Hough recently reflected on her sexual orientation, five years after initially revealing that she’s “not straight.” Speaking on the Jamie Kern Lima Show podcast, the Dancing With The Stars alum shared that she prefers not to label herself and is instead attracted to “people.”
During the conversation, Hough described how “empowering” it was to publicly “come out” in 2019. She elaborated on the experience, saying, “Coming out is one of the most vulnerable and empowering things you can do. For me, it wasn’t about being straight, gay, bi, or queer—it was about understanding love and recognizing that I love people. I don’t know exactly what I’m attracted to, but I choose the person.”
At 36, Hough admitted she’s still learning about her own sexual orientation. She emphasized how she has come to see people for their hearts, beauty, and essence, calling it a “beautiful revelation.”
Hough first opened up about her identity in a 2019 interview with Women’s Health, where she revealed to her then-husband, Brooks Laich, that she is “not straight.”
